Urge Congress to Defund the EPA!

No agency possesses the power to make law, and yet that is precisely what the EPA has done by placing itself above Congress on all matters relating to energy production and consumption. And it's only getting worse.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is one of the least transparent federal agencies, is based on faulty science, and creates job killing regulations.  The latest example is a set of regulations that are shutting down 285 coal plants, risking a future of rolling brownouts.  Sadly, incoming EPA administrator Gina McCarthy is continuing to lead this fight.

According to an American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity analysis, the hardest hit states by EPA policy are Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana. Nationwide, the number of actual plant closures is five times greater than EPA predicted would occur because of its regulations.

Gina McCarthy, the new EPA administrator, is no friend of coal. Nor will she do anything about rolling back the agency’s carbon endangerment finding, which ruled that carbon dioxide, a biological gas necessary for the very existence of life, is a “harmful pollutant” under the terms of the Clean Air Act.

Nor will she repeal the EPA’s regional haze rule, carbon restrictions on new and existing power plants, and the “National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants” that restricts mercury emissions from plants.

Sue-and-settle arrangements the agency enters with organizations will similarly continue. This is where a group sues demanding that the EPA enforce the law in a new, expanded way and the agency enters into a consent decree with the party, which is signed by a judge. This leaves the agency with new powers under the Clean Air and Water Acts.

No agency possesses the power to make law, and yet that is precisely what the EPA has done by placing itself above Congress on all matters relating to energy production and consumption. And it’s only getting worse. The only option to rein in this rogue agency is to urge Congress to act aggressively and use its power of the purse to defund these regulations.

You know what to do!  Let’s urge members of Congress to stop the EPA by defunding the agency. Members should refuse to increase the debt ceiling unless these regulations are repealed in full.  We need to encourage job creation, not make it impossible for businesses to prosper. But your representative and senators need to know you stand with them in order to find the courage to act.

The EPA is out of control and needs to be abolished and started over with absolute control by LAW and Congress. Of course we wouldn't be in this situation if Congress did their job in the first place!

The EPA has long out grown it's usefulness and is now a great burden to the country and to the world. Like every other government program, it has gotten out of control and is beyond it's usefulness. They have abused their power and are past the line in the sand! THEY HAVE TO BE SHUT DOWN!!!

The only winner is the government who in turn taxes us to fund their work. The only way they get more money is by finding more work regardless of its merit.

This is yet another agency of the Obama administration that, like the IRS, acts as a law unto itself. Time to rein them in, Congress!

Just shut the power down to all EPA offices and blame the reduction of coal, they will just have to pee in the dark. GOV. now means Stupid beyond all reason.

We need responsible oversight to keep our air and water safe -- the EPA lacks the responsible portion and is hell bent on killing jobs, damaging the economy and raising utility costs based on a pseudoscience climate change agenda. The unproven causes of natural disasters connected to climate do not warrant a massive overreach and abuse of power. The EPA is yet another out of control administrative agency that works outside of the laws intended "Checks and Balances" dictated by the Constitution. We need PROTECTION from the EPA. Abolish it and create a new agency that must report to congress and answer to the people rather than to an increasingly tyrannical President. De-fund them now and withhold funding until a new agency is created to replace this Gestapo like organization.
