Urge Congress to Defund the EPA!

No agency possesses the power to make law, and yet that is precisely what the EPA has done by placing itself above Congress on all matters relating to energy production and consumption. And it's only getting worse.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is one of the least transparent federal agencies, is based on faulty science, and creates job killing regulations.  The latest example is a set of regulations that are shutting down 285 coal plants, risking a future of rolling brownouts.  Sadly, incoming EPA administrator Gina McCarthy is continuing to lead this fight.

According to an American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity analysis, the hardest hit states by EPA policy are Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana. Nationwide, the number of actual plant closures is five times greater than EPA predicted would occur because of its regulations.

Gina McCarthy, the new EPA administrator, is no friend of coal. Nor will she do anything about rolling back the agency’s carbon endangerment finding, which ruled that carbon dioxide, a biological gas necessary for the very existence of life, is a “harmful pollutant” under the terms of the Clean Air Act.

Nor will she repeal the EPA’s regional haze rule, carbon restrictions on new and existing power plants, and the “National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants” that restricts mercury emissions from plants.

Sue-and-settle arrangements the agency enters with organizations will similarly continue. This is where a group sues demanding that the EPA enforce the law in a new, expanded way and the agency enters into a consent decree with the party, which is signed by a judge. This leaves the agency with new powers under the Clean Air and Water Acts.

No agency possesses the power to make law, and yet that is precisely what the EPA has done by placing itself above Congress on all matters relating to energy production and consumption. And it’s only getting worse. The only option to rein in this rogue agency is to urge Congress to act aggressively and use its power of the purse to defund these regulations.

You know what to do!  Let’s urge members of Congress to stop the EPA by defunding the agency. Members should refuse to increase the debt ceiling unless these regulations are repealed in full.  We need to encourage job creation, not make it impossible for businesses to prosper. But your representative and senators need to know you stand with them in order to find the courage to act.

The EPA needs to be reworked and Congress needs to have oversight on all powers that they have, as with any agency. No agency should make their own laws or decide what laws to enforce or not enforce, regardless of special interest groups.

The EPA is out of control and needs to be put in its place, out of business. They do nothing but destroy the right to do business and create nothing but ca yous.

This and many other agencies need to be stopped, evaluated and started back up with narrower scope. This is what a CEO would do if reorganizing a business. Everything must stop first.

The EPA is an overpaid, useless agency - What a waste! My vote and the votes of my family & friends will NOT go to anyone that will not stand up to this enormous, out of control, know nothing, selfish, lazy group of people.

I feel the EPA is a waste of money and is using up all our good resources like in Michigan, West Virginia, Ohio and other states. We have an abundance of clean coal and have lot of coal miners that are workers. Also in Wyoming and bordering states there is plenty of shale which if we built the pipeline (which has been studied for five years) we could have our own pipeline and would not have to depend on other countries. We have wasted money on things like battery plants in Michigan and later found out the workers did not work to study batteries by played card games on their computers and got paid very well. We also need to get rid of all these regulations. We have also wasted our money on projects that do fail and not work. The Congress should make the rules not the EPA.

The Environmental Protection Agency is an unconstitional beast that has, and continues to harm the freedom of the United States. It may have served a pupose at on time, but has now gone far beyond reasonable boundaries. The time has come for the life of this beast to end.
