Urge Congress to keep President Trump's promise and build the wall now!

Make a promise, keep a promise.

President Donald Trump ran on building the southern border wall, and the Republican Congress needs to fund it in the 2019 spending bill.

On Jan. 27, 2017, House Speaker Paul Ryan told the American people that, "This is something, [the wall], we want to get on right away. And so we do believe this is urgent. We believe this is one of the most important promises the President made running for office. It's a promise he's going to keep and it's a promise we're going to help him keep."

Ryan added, “We anticipate a supplemental coming from the administration on defense and the border” and “I’m hoping in the first quarter we can get this done. But again, it’s getting [Mick Mulvaney confirmed as Office of Management and Budget Director and] up and running so they can send us the supplemental.”

Mulvaney was confirmed on Feb. 16 and the supplemental request was proposed on March 14 by Mulvaney and then formally put in on March 16 by President Trump to Speaker Ryan. Trump kept his side of the bargain. But somehow, by March 30, Ryan had changed his tune, telling CBS News, “The big chunk of money for the wall really is… next fiscal year’s appropriations because they literally can’t start construction even this quickly.”

The wall was not funded in the September spending bill either. Then, Ryan called a government shutdown “not necessary” when in fact it may be the only way to get the wall built. He and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promised $12 billion to $15 billion for the wall a year ago. Now, all they've got done is the President's $1.6 billion supplemental he asked for last year.

September may be the last chance to get it done and fully fund the wall while Republicans still control Congress with the midterms up in November.

Ryan has already moved the goal posts four times, and we can't let him do it again. He is locked in to provide the funding for the wall now. Time's up. Congress is rapidly losing credibility on implementing any parts of the Trump agenda that won the election in 2016. Congress has to keep its word and build the wall!

You know what to do! Let’s urge Congress to build the southern border wall just like they promised.

The GOP Congress needs to keep Trump’s promise on the wall, for failure would be a politically devastating betrayal of the voters that who elected both President Trump and the GOP majorities in the House and Senate.

Whatever it takes, the GOP Congress must get that wall built. And they should get it done now!

There remains no legitimate reason for Congressional leadership not to work with President Trump to do what is one of the main reasons why Federal Government exist, to provide for common defense of U.S. citizens, in this case protecting border by building a wall.

The wall must be built NOW. The money saved by not having illegal's on welfare and in our jails will pay us back every year. BUILD IT NOW. There are a lot of Congress that will be up for election and you should think very serious about that.

Donald Trump repeatedly stated he would build the wall, and Mexico would pay for it ( via taxes on Mexican goods brought into the USA, or by any number of other means the Trump administration could employ). Mr. Trump was elected President, and one of the primary reasons they voted for him was they agreed that erecting a wall on our southern border is essential. Paul Ryan initially assured Americans that building the wall was an essential and urgent goal that he intended to keep on behalf of President Trump. But by March 30 of this year House Speaker Ryan reversed his January promise to devote $12 to $15 billion for the wall. Speaker Ryan must keep his January promise to the President and the American people to properly fund the wall so its immediate construction can begin.

The people elected President Trump because he made promises that the people saw as they are choices. To build a wall, to strengthen our economy, to abolish political correctness and return morality to this nation. I am one of those people. You were my representative. Forget your own wishes and listen to the voice of the people. That was what you were elected to do .

If MY President shuts down the government, it will be the House and Senate who pay for it. 2018 is going to be a bloodbath for RINOs and leftist Democrats. We elected President Trump for a reason and we are tired of being lied to by the corrupt scumbags in Congress who have done everything possible to obstruct our DULY ELECTED President and everyone I know is waiting for the midterms to send a message to Congress: support President Trump or you are going home in 2018. President Trump will be re-elected in 2020--so get on the Trump train because the DC gravy train has left the station. We have had ENOUGH!!

Trump was elected because Americans are fed up with corruption and dysfunction in Washington, DC. Democrats and Republicans alike should heed a clarion call for change. At issue is not Donald Trump's fitness for office. At issue is the fitness for office of every Democrat and Republican in Washington. The changes that are needed transcend partisan bickering. Stop sniping at one another. Start legislating on the basis of consensus. Restore Constitutional priorities to federal governance. Restore restraint and common decency to federal governance. It is high time that the "lifers" in Washington be sent home to live without the power of high office in a nation they have sorely wounded. The American people cried out for change when they elected Donald Trump. Listen and learn.

To the totalitarians (aka Democratic Party Komrades) that unfortunately represent me, if you are not in favor of protecting the United States by your oath of office, then you must be an enemy of the United States. Walls work. I'd bet you have one at your home.

Speaker Ryan and Leader McConnell should stop playing games. They must fulfill their policy commitments to GOP voters by building the southern border Wall, repealing the ACA, and reforming the federal tax code. Otherwise, the GOP will likely face significant losses in both 2018 and 2020. I support repeal of the Sixteenth Amendment and the abolition of the federal income tax entirely. The people hurt most by the IRS are middle-income wage earners. It's time to get the IRS off the back of the American middle class. Establish instead a consumption tax. The rich buy a lot of stuff; their shopping sprees should be subject to federal taxation.
