Urge President Trump to reject trade preferences for India and put America first!

India says it is ready to participate in the global economy, yet the sub-continent nation — which benefits with $4.7 billion a year from the U.S. General System of Preferences — charges big tariffs to U.S. exporters trying to do business over there.

India charges 13.4 percent tariffs on a most favored nation basis.

The U.S., on the other hand, charges just 3.7 percent tariffs for most favored nation trading.

In addition, the U.S. grants the additional favor to India, with a $2.45 trillion Gross Domestic Product, with $4.7 billion of duty-free trading under the General System of Preferences.

That’s not reciprocity. It’s not even free trade. It’s one-sided trade.

And it does not have to continue. You know what to do! Let’s urge President Trump and Congress to remove India from the General System of Preferences and pursue a bilateral trade agreement.

Right now, the U.S. does not receive similar trade preferences in return, and it is time that India join the U.S. in pursuing shared interests on free markets, intellectual property and labor.

A bilateral trade deal with India would be preferable to the blanket approach offered by the General System of Preferences, where India is treated the same as small, undeveloped countries. India has the sixth largest economy in the world. It is time for India meet the promise of their Make In India campaign and leave the little kids trade table and join the adults in a bilateral deal with the United States.

We should not be giving any nation with over a Billion people any better Tariff deals than they allow us when sending products to their Country. Fair is fair, never one sided!

Our general government ought to offer the hand of friendship to all, not showing partiality. Especially in matters of commerce. "Treatyng" none preferentially by high or low tariffs, not engaging in embargo's or sanctions unless with our declared enemies, thereby being a beacon of equality and fairness in uprightness. And always seeking to bring about peace with our enemies by praying for them.

For years India has benefited from our companies outscourcing call center and other jobs at the expense of the American people. In exchange they take advantage of the American taxpayers. It is time for America first

This existing trade system was the result of laziness on the part of those involved in structuring the agreements. I have been researching countries for business opportunities and most are structured this way. Many poorer nations do not have the manufacturing capabilities of first world Nations. They are forced to buy equipment and materials from outside their country paying extreme levies on US and European goods. Those people cannot compete on the world stage even if labor was free because tax on raw materials is extreme. If we reciprocate tax rates they would be forced to lower rates in order to sell their goods. An economic boom would occur spurring world growth and helping alleviate poverty.

STOP IMPORTATION OF FOREIGN WORKERS ON H-1B VISAS ! American jobs for Americans in America ! Hundreds of thousands of Americans with good backgrounds in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) can not get meaningful employment here in their own country because of the massive influx of H-1B Workers from places like India and China.
