Urge Congress to Defund the EPA!

No agency possesses the power to make law, and yet that is precisely what the EPA has done by placing itself above Congress on all matters relating to energy production and consumption. And it's only getting worse.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is one of the least transparent federal agencies, is based on faulty science, and creates job killing regulations.  The latest example is a set of regulations that are shutting down 285 coal plants, risking a future of rolling brownouts.  Sadly, incoming EPA administrator Gina McCarthy is continuing to lead this fight.

According to an American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity analysis, the hardest hit states by EPA policy are Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana. Nationwide, the number of actual plant closures is five times greater than EPA predicted would occur because of its regulations.

Gina McCarthy, the new EPA administrator, is no friend of coal. Nor will she do anything about rolling back the agency’s carbon endangerment finding, which ruled that carbon dioxide, a biological gas necessary for the very existence of life, is a “harmful pollutant” under the terms of the Clean Air Act.

Nor will she repeal the EPA’s regional haze rule, carbon restrictions on new and existing power plants, and the “National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants” that restricts mercury emissions from plants.

Sue-and-settle arrangements the agency enters with organizations will similarly continue. This is where a group sues demanding that the EPA enforce the law in a new, expanded way and the agency enters into a consent decree with the party, which is signed by a judge. This leaves the agency with new powers under the Clean Air and Water Acts.

No agency possesses the power to make law, and yet that is precisely what the EPA has done by placing itself above Congress on all matters relating to energy production and consumption. And it’s only getting worse. The only option to rein in this rogue agency is to urge Congress to act aggressively and use its power of the purse to defund these regulations.

You know what to do!  Let’s urge members of Congress to stop the EPA by defunding the agency. Members should refuse to increase the debt ceiling unless these regulations are repealed in full.  We need to encourage job creation, not make it impossible for businesses to prosper. But your representative and senators need to know you stand with them in order to find the courage to act.

Erupting volcanos cause more pollution than all of man. Tell the EPA to stop them from erupting. That will stop the pollution.

Why doesn't the EPA go after the real polluters of the World, China and India? Implementing rules and regulations without the consent of the people. Abolish the agency.

Please re-train this band of rogue agency combatants to provide a service that will enhance our country to thrive and grow. If not, send them overseas where the major pollution problems of the Globe operate, where the EPA is really needed.

The States can handle all environmental concerns quite nicely on their own. The whacky ones (like CA) then lose big time

Only the legislative branch should be making laws. Even the judicial branch can only, constitutionally, give "opinions" - period.
